Dart Master 2006 PtIII

Dear Dart Master Wannabe's,

Apologies for the lack of contact but holidays and general laziness have hindered me writing this. There was also some technical diffuculties getting on to the blog site due to a forgotten username!

Now the Hotness may have run away to the other side of the world but the Dart Master competition is bigger than any one player. As your current DM I would like to invite you to part III of the 2006 Tourney provisionally scheduled for 2nd September. I'm currently thinking of the NPL Sports Club Pavillion as the venue although can't confirm this until we confirm the date. Back up venues will be the Masons or Popes Grotto.

Now as our numbers have diminished slightly I feel its a good time to introduce some new blood to the DM cult. So please feel free to nominate any potential players for participation. I think some kind of initiation for them should also be included, no doubt alcohol based, suggestions welcome. Although preferable they have some darts skills so that I might have some challenge its not totally necessary as I'm sure the Hardcore would love to hand the shit trophy on to someone new (Note this trophy has been found, much to their disgust, by the new occupier of Sure Shot's desk (sorry Mike you have no desk at work anymore!!). Think we should stick to a maximum of 8 in order to keep the competition.

So please comment on sutability of this date, venue, new players or any moans and gripes you might have. The latter are especially welcome as I can then remind you that I am the current DM and am above your petty winging, the DM is a dictatorship not a democracy. Please restrict comments to the blog rather than emailing me direct so our brethren across the seas can enjoy the lunacy.

My dear fellow pissed dartists, the 2nd of september seems as good a date as any to me, and the venue choices are also acceptable, any excuse for a jaunt back to my old stomping/crawling ground.

Incidentally, I shall be back up in civilisation two weeks subsequent to the proposed date in order to partipate in the 'Great River Race' if any of you c-units fancy cheering me and m'dragon boating colleagues along as we negotiate the Thames between Richmond and Greenwich.

Anyway, I digress from the purtinent point of the DM contest. As per, I will not have had a chance to chuck a dart in anger since 'Dart Day' and as such I am fully expecting to retain 'The Shit' as I have lovingly come to know it and as it has been found I shall revel in the satisfaction of being able to return it, triumphantly, to Exeter. Unless a player of sufficiently restricted ability can be found to replace our dear and departed 'Hotness' and contest me for it. Such a poor wretch would have my sincerest sympathy,... for about a nano-second before I do my Hardcore happy dance all over their face,... Ha, Haaa, Haaaaaa!

Sorry, came over a bit 'Crazy' for a second there, time for my medication.

Back atcha Thrill.

Hardcore out.

I can't make the 2nd as I am away, no not at a football match either. Can't do the 9th of September either as its Sharon's birthday. The 26th August and 16th September are ok though.
Not happy about the pav as a venue, but then I never have been. My objections have usually been igonored anyway. Its not intimate enough for darts and there's always the odd fuckwit who walks straight in front of the board just as you about to throw, The Hotness is with me on this, but unfortunatley not here to back me up. I also think that Barry's "polar bear" antics are still haunting me...

Hmm not sure about those alternative dates CC. Think one I'm suppose to see my Mum who will have just had an operation - would it be cruel to cancel on her?? and the other I might have a wedding to go to, need to check. Would love to cancel that but can't!!
Still no word from the Staines Massive, are you guys alive????

In terms of the alternative dates suggested by CC, the 26th is good as it will get me out of playing my first game for Exeter Saracens (8 pre-season training sessions are not enough to convince me that I'm not going to get my face ruined), 16th is out because of aforementioned Dragon Boat madness and anything after is not good as I will be training like an idiot for the National Dragon stuff final.

The ninth is good for me although I would prefer that CC could make it as we don't want the Thrill just walking away with the trophy, it might go to his head.

Cheerio chaps, HC

OK, looks like Saturday's are out, how about doing it on a Sunday? 27th and 17th look good.

Right after finally checking some dates I can confirm that the 26th/27th should be ok. The 9th is a definite no go due to the wedding I mentioned. The bank holiday isn't a bad idea as we can play on either the Sunday or the Saturday depending on which people would prefer

Cool, have heard from Crazy who is suffering technical difficulties logging on to the blog. Hopefully we should hear his sage words any day soon. Looks like the bank holiday is a go as 4 out of 5 is enough for a confirmation and I don't want to mess about as the date draws near. will look to confirm the venue in the next few days. don't forget to let me know about potential new combatants for the Battle of DM. I have a couple of amateurs in mind who might be interested. And no Barry 'The Polar Bear' Scott is not invited and will continue serving his life time ban with no chance of parole.
